Review
Perched above the Pacific Ocean, this stunning three-story villa in Palos Verdes Estates is the kind of home where the view does all the talking. But to fully enjoy that view—from every level—the homeowners knew they needed more than just standard doors and windows.
They wanted clean, uninterrupted sightlines, better energy performance, and something that could handle the Southern California coastal climate. We stepped in with a custom solution: slim frame sliding doors, pocket doors, and casement windows—all installed with ADA-compliant low thresholds for accessibility and ease of use.
Now, from the living room to the upper-floor bedrooms, you can enjoy wide-open ocean views without bulky frames getting in the way.

Challenge
1-Thermal Comfort & Energy Efficiency:
High summer temperatures. The homeowner needed window and door systems that reduce heat gain and improve HVAC efficiency — meeting California’s Title 24 energy standards.
2-Maximized Openings for Indoor-Outdoor Living:
The homeowner was tired of the heavy visual weight and wanted a more energy-efficient solution that would also save on labor and time during installation. The project called for a new generation of window and door systems—ones that could deliver aesthetics, performance, and smooth on-site execution.
3-Time- and Labor-Saving Installation:
The owner needed systems that arrived ready-to-install, minimizing on-site adjustments and reducing subcontractor labor hours.

The Solution
1.Energy-Efficient Design
To meet the energy-saving requirements, VINCO incorporated Low-E glass into the window design. This type of glass is coated to reflect heat while allowing light to pass through, significantly reducing the building’s heating and cooling costs. The frames were made from T6065 aluminum alloy, a newly cast material known for its strength and durability. This ensured that the windows not only provided excellent insulation but also had the structural integrity to withstand the urban environment's demands.
2.Optimized for Local Weather Conditions
Given Philadelphia's varied climate, VINCO developed a specialized window system to handle both the city's hot summers and cold winters. The system features triple-layer sealing for superior water and airtightness, using EPDM rubber, which allows for easy glass installation and replacement. This ensures that the windows maintain their high performance with minimal maintenance, keeping the building well-insulated and protected from harsh weather conditions.
